Glass key stopcocks T Bore
Glass Key Stopcock T Bore – Precision 3-Way Laboratory Glass Valve
The SGC LABS® Glass Key Stopcock with T Bore is crafted from
Borosilicate Glass 3.3 with a precision-ground tapered key plug featuring
a T-shaped bore. This unique bore geometry creates three ports
(one on each side of the barrel plus one through the plug tip), enabling selective
routing of liquids or gases between any two of three connected lines — making it
the standard choice for laboratory manifolds, vacuum switching, and multi-reagent
delivery systems.
What is a T Bore Stopcock?
In a T bore stopcock, the channel through the plug is shaped like
the letter “T”, connecting three openings instead of two. By rotating the
plug 90° or 180°, the operator can:
Connect Port A to Port B (while Port C is closed)
Connect Port A to Port C (while Port B is closed)
Connect Port B to Port C (while Port A is closed)
Connect all three ports simultaneously (T open position)
This flexibility makes the T bore the preferred choice over straight bore or
oblique bore for multi-line switching applications.
